of quilts and fall and well....

 

I've neglected my blog for some time now. I haven't had time to sew, working life has taken over all free time. But, I'm back! It's time for the fall, pre-Christmas sew-a-thon.

I'm rather in a quilt mood these days (although I'm still trying to determine what I will sew for the holidays as the gifty item my friends can buy).

Here's my current project, almost finished - just wrapping up the binding. I am finally sticking my toe in the quilting by machine pond. I'm a newbie at it so it will take a few of these before they look smashing. Although, I like this little guy, it's cheerful and squiggly.

The pattern is called "City Sweets", and it's from the book City Quilts and you can find information on this blog. The style of these quilts is a fantastic, somewhat modern Amish approach - simple, colorful and serene.
